  • 1 ⅓ cups Warm water About 105–110°F
  • 2 teaspoons Instant yeast Active dry also works
  • 1 tablespoon Granulated sugar Feeds the yeast
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil Adds softness
  • 1 ½ teaspoons Salt Flavor balance
  • 3 ½ cups All-purpose flour Bread flour for extra chew
  • As needed — Extra flour For dusting

Step 1
  1. In a large bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Stir lightly and let it sit for 5 minutes until bubbly and foamy.

Notes

I always use warm, not hot, water because it helps the yeast work properly. If the dough feels tight while stretching, I just let it rest a few more minutes. This dough freezes really well too, so sometimes I make extra and save it for later pizza nights.
