Method
Step 1
- In a large bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Stir lightly and let it sit for 5 minutes until bubbly and foamy.

Step 2
- Add olive oil and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir gently to combine.

Step 3
- Start adding flour slowly while mixing with a spoon. Mix until a sticky dough forms.

Step 4
- Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead for 6–8 minutes until soft, smooth, and elastic.

Step 5
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl. Cover it and let it rise in a warm place for about 60 minutes, or until doubled.

Step 6
- Punch the dough down gently and divide it into 4 equal portions. Shape each portion into a smooth ball.

Step 7
- Place dough balls on an oiled tray, cover, and let them rest for 15 minutes so they relax.

Step 8
- Press each dough ball into a pizza shape, add sauce and toppings, then bake at 475–500°F for 10–12 minutes until golden and bubbly.

Notes
I always use warm, not hot, water because it helps the yeast work properly. If the dough feels tight while stretching, I just let it rest a few more minutes. This dough freezes really well too, so sometimes I make extra and save it for later pizza nights.
